MedInformatix-Aspire Indiana Mark Milestone in Pioneering Use of EHR in Behavioral Health

Los Angeles, CA – (August 23, 2021)

MedInformatix is marking a significant milestone in the use of its enterprise technology platform. 2021 marks 20 years since the health IT innovator formed a relationship with Aspire Indiana, a fully integrated health system providing both primary medical and behavioral healthcare, as well as support services addressing the social determinants of health, to incorporate enterprise practice management and electronic health records into the behavioral healthcare setting.

“This milestone is a testament to innovation in healthcare,” said Pat McGonigle, Chief Executive Officer of MedInformatix. In 2001, few software providers specialized in the implementation of EHR in behavioral health, including MedInformatix, who primarily serviced radiology and general ambulatory medical specialties. When tasked by Aspire to implement a new enterprise technology platform, MedInformatix technology teams immersed themselves in the unique needs of a behavioral healthcare facility and then customized an EHR and revenue cycle management solution to meet Aspire’s objectives. “What seemed like unlikely partners at first, has turned into a trusting collaboration spanning two decades and growing.”

The results have been impressive.

The MedInformatix technology platform has provided Aspire physicians, therapists and other related professionals, access to a wider array of real-time documentation and patient information to better manage their clinical, administrative and operational workflows. According to Dr. Jerry Landers, DBA, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Aspire, the efficiencies gained through MedInformatix have also helped Aspire personnel focus more on patient outcomes rather than on patient intake, a key priority of the facility as it continues to serve an expanding population. Landers says MedInformatix has scaled to meet a growing Aspire organization that today includes over 300 professionals spread across 13 locations conducting more than 334,000 inpatient, outpatient and community-based services each year.

Added McGonigle, “We were excited to forge new ground with Aspire 20 years ago and we are equally excited to be continuing our collaboration now. In many ways it seems like we are just getting started.”
