MedInformatix Launches Mobile App to Streamline & Strengthen Provider-Patient Engagement

Los Angeles, CA – (February 6, 2020)

Health IT innovator MedInformatix announced today the launch and availability of MI Notify, a patient notification application designed to make it easier for providers and patients to engage with one another on matters pertaining to appointments, procedures, billing and other important areas. MI Notify is the beginning of a cloud-based communication platform with a seamless integration to the MedInformatix RIS and EHR and is part of the MedInformatix strategy to utilize mobile technology to streamline and strengthen the relationship between providers and patients.

“We are committed to deploying new technologies that better connect physicians, patients and practices in today’s rapidly changing healthcare environment,” said Pat McGonigle, President and CEO of MedInformatix. “MI Notify delivers on this commitment and provides an efficient resource for providers and patients to remain in communication with one another when, where and how they choose.”

The MI Notify app gives providers the ability to send on-demand voice, text and email messages to patients within a secure environment. Chris Bruns, Director of MedInformatix Product & Services, said the app was originally conceived as an appointment notification tool, but was quickly expanded to serve as a communication resource to send reminders for follow-up care, test results and payment requests, among other provider-patient needs. The app can also be used to recognize patient milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries or treatment accomplishments.

The app’s seamless integration with the MedInformatix RIS and EHR makes it virtually effortless for providers to engage with patients. Practice personnel simply select the type of notification they intend to send and schedule its delivery without ever leaving the RIS or EHR environment. Notification results are then directly integrated into relevant workflows allowing for real-time monitoring of communication between the practice and the patient.

“Regardless of the notification, the app brings an added level of familiarity to the provider-patient relationship at a time when so many people use mobile technology as their preferred means of communication,” added Bruns.
